Health and Safety Protocols

We want to ensure your visit to the Logan Center is enjoyable, welcoming, and safe. Our health & safety protocols are informed by recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Chicago Department of Public Health, the Illinois Department of Public Health, and experts at UChicago Medicine.

Events at the Logan Center are open to all invitees regardless of vaccination status and, because of ongoing health risks to the unvaccinated individuals, those who are unvaccinated are expected to adopt the risk mitigation measures advised by public health officials (such as masking and social distancing). Public convening may not be safe for all and carries a risk for contracting COVID-19, particularly for those unvaccinated. Participants will not know the vaccination status of others and should follow appropriate risk mitigation measures. Participants may contact event organizers to request accommodation of risk mitigation measures.

The Logan Center requires that all visitors, artists, vendors, students, faculty, and staff follow the health & safety protocols below.

  1. Self-Monitoring
The University of Chicago’s COVID-19 daily health protocols apply to everyone on campus. Anyone coming to campus is expected to self-monitor for COVID-19 symptoms. Any person who feels unwell or (a) has any COVID-19 Symptoms (b) has had a positive COVID-19 test in the past 10 days, or (c) has had close contact with anyone confirmed or suspected of having COVID-19 agrees not to come to the Logan Center.

  2. Masking Requirements
All individuals are required to wear a face covering over the nose and the mouth at all times while in the Logan Center, with the following limited exceptions

    • Private spaces – An individual may remove their face coverings if they are in a private room alone with the door closed.

    • Eating and Drinking – A fully-vaccinated individual may remove their face covering to eat or drink. An unvaccinated individual may remove their face covering to eat or drink so long as they maintain six feet of social distance from others.

  3. Travel
Attendees should abide by City of Chicago travel orders with regard to quarantine.

  4. Risk
Visitors to the Logan Center understand that there is an inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 in any public place. Please follow health & safety protocols to help mitigate risk. All visitors to the Logan Center voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19.

  5. Compliance

    • The Logan Center is committed to protecting the health & safety of our visitors, artists, vendors, students, faculty, and staff. The decision to be present on campus and/or in the Logan Center serves as your acknowledgment and acceptance of the potential risks posed by COVID-19 and your agreement to comply with all health & safety protocols. The Logan Center reserves the right to deny entry to or remove visitors in violation of our protocols. Any visitors who are disrespectful or discourteous to other visitors, artists, or staff may also be asked to leave.

UChicago encourages everyone to be vaccinated for COVID-19 at their earliest opportunity, including visitors to campus. More safety precautions are available on UChicago's GoForward site. You can find a vaccine location close to you by using this tool from vaccines.gov.
