Juried Exhibition Fri, Sep 27–Dec 8, 2019

SUBMISSION DEADLINE: Monday, August 5, 2019

EXHIBITION: Friday, September 27 through Sunday, December 8, 2019

Entry Requirements

Entrants must be photographers who regularly photograph jazz musicians in the Chicago area. By submitting your photographs, you represent and warrant that you are the photographer who created each photograph and that you hold the copyright for each photograph. There is no entry fee.

Submission and Selection Process

Each photographer may submit up to five (5) images for consideration. Please note: one “image” can be a collage of images or a series of multiple images (such as a triptych) as long as they are presented as one file.

The jury will review the submissions and select images that will be displayed. All photographers will be notified of the jury’s decisions by Monday, August 26, 2019.

Exhibition Process

The Logan Center will display selected work in Café Logan on the first floor. All decisions regarding image arrangement, placement, and lighting will be made by the Logan Center.

Please note that the Logan Center does not post prices or sell exhibited work. The Logan Center will make artist contact information available to patrons that express interest in their work.

Following the exhibition, framed works will be returned to the photographer. They can be picked up from the Logan Center beginning at 10 am Monday, December 9, 2019.

About the Exhibition

In conjunction with the annual Hyde Park Jazz Festival (September 28-29, 2019), and the second edition of the Second Monday Blues series, occuring the second Monday of each month starting in October, the Reva and David Logan Center for the Arts will stage a juried exhibition in Café Logan from Friday, September 27 to Decemeber 8, 2019. The exhibition will celebrate Chicago’s vibrant jazz and blues scene and showcase the talents of Chicago area photographers whose work includes original images of Chicago-based jazz and blues musicians.
