Recognized Student Organizations (RSOs)

ArtShould is an arts community service RSO that aims to promote art on the University of Chicago campus and in the Hyde Park community by mentoring youths in Chicago Public Schools through after-school art programs and hosting creative events on campus.

Provides one-on-one music education to South Side students, pairing them with UChicago student teachers at teaching locations across Hyde Park, Woodlawn, and Washington Park.

Provides supervised writing activities to Hyde Park elementary school students in grades 2–6 to get them excited about writing and being creative.

Offering free weekend and after school programs for Chicago-area high school students with classes taught by UChicago students that introduce students to exciting ideas that aren't taught in the traditional classroom, from the history of pirates to the science of stars.

A mentorship program for UChicago students to work one-on-one with Chicago Youth Programs students to create quarterly publications highlighting the stories of organizations and people making positive contributions to South Side communities.

A two-week youth summer camp organized by Art Should and South Side Weekly focused on storytelling through writing, film, graphic novels, and mural painting.
