Description

American art historians Doss (University of Notre Dame) and Taylor (University of Pittsburgh) contextualize the work of Italian sculptor Virginio Ferrari (b. 1937) within the broader landscape of public art in post-war Chicago and American cityscapes. Part of Dialogo: Virginio Ferrari and Chicago, a series of public events with and about Ferrari, one of the most widely-commissioned public sculptors on the University of Chicago campus and in Chicago’s postwar history. Dialogo is part of the Terra Foundation’s 2018 Art Design Chicago initiative. Q&A and reception to follow. Free and open to the public.
