In collaboration with OLAS at UChicago, we are excited to
co-host an indigenous Mesoamerican dance workshop (called "mitotilliztli"
in Nahuatl), led by Maestro Akaxe Yotzin, where we will also learn about
the philosophical concepts behind the steps.

Maestro Akaxe Yotzin has been sharing indigenous dance and philosophy since
1999 across Europe, Mexico, and the U.S. He operates Mahtinauhkalli, a
cultural center in Pilsen. Throughout his time in the U.S. he has been a
guest artist and lecturer at different institutions, including The Field
Museum, Vassar College, DePaul University, University of Illinois - Urbana,
and University of California Santa Cruz.
