Join us for the first-ever Community Film Showcase, celebrating work produced by the first and second cohorts of the Digital Storytelling Initiative’s Production Institute in the summers of 2019 and 2020. Fellows underwent 13 weeks of intensive production training and produced and directed their own three- to five-minute narrative or documentary projects. The development of these projects deepened their artistic capacities, strengthened neighborhood connections, and built collaborative relationships across generations and gender.
The Production Institute, presented in partnership with the Community Film Workshop of Chicago, makes high-quality digital production training accessible to emerging media makers from South Side communities. The aim of the Production Institute is to provide skills enhancement and engage artists in telling stories of the rich culture of their communities and institutions. The Production Institute is a program of the Digital Storytelling Initiative at the Reva and David Logan Center for the Arts and is supported by the Jonathan Logan Family Foundation.
