Beginner Yoga Class
Instructors: Sidra Newman, Latipha Rivers
Arts + Public Life offers community yoga classes throughout the year. Beginner Yoga Class is designed with the absolute yoga beginner in mind. The focus is an introduction to basic yoga poses and healthy alignment. Here you will practice standing asana (poses) as well as seated poses. Beginner yoga also incorporates yogic breathing, meditation, and relaxation techniques and is great for stress relief and overall relaxation. All materials are provided.
YogaCare catalyzes the spread of yoga in under-resourced communities to promote health. They provide customized yoga programs, professional development for community focused yoga teachers, and scholarships for YogaCare students to become teachers. Through partnerships with community health centers and non-profit organizations, they develop affordable and culturally responsive services to manage stress, pain, and chronic diseases and empower community members to develop healthy lifestyles, building healthier communities. YogaCare believes yoga should be available for all people, regardless of ability to pay.
