Join members of the Prison and Neighborhood Arts Project
(PNAP) to talk about how their work teaching at Stateville prison makes connections to Chicago communities. PNAP is visual arts and humanities project that connects artists and scholars to people at Stateville Maximum Security Prison through classes, workshops and guest lectures. Work developed in the classes is performed and exhibited in neighborhood galleries and community centers, with the goal of fostering critical dialogues around education, art, incarceration and criminalization. Panel members will include: Audrey Petty, Kai Parker, Lasana Kazembe, and Sarah Ross. PNAP is now collaborating with the UChicago Civic Knowledge Project and Center for the Study of Race, Politics, and Culture. This event will be held at the Semcoop Bookstore, 5751 S. Woodlawn Ave., Chicago, IL. For more information, please contact CKP Director Bart Schultz, at
