Chicago Integrated Media Experimental Studio
The CHIME Studio (Chicago Integrated Media Experimental Studio) is a vital creative space in the Chicago Center for Contemporary Composition and the University of Chicago’s Department of Music.
Directed by composer, improviser, and sound artist Sam Pluta, the studio is focused on creativity in the many realms of electronic music and its integration with other media.
Housed in the University Chicago’s Goodspeed Hall (room 210), CHIME's recording and surround-sound mixing facility supports the production of new electronic, electro-acoustic, and multimedia works, and encourages the development of new software and hardware environments for musical expression.
In addition to its integration into events at CCCC, CHIME regularly produces concerts and engages in collaborative projects with artists from across disciplines, both on campus and across the City of Chicago.
