Day includes free interactive arts workshops

An exciting new season of Logan Center Family Saturdays kicks off Saturday, October 5, 2013, at the Reva and David Logan Center for the Arts. In addition to free, interactive arts workshops (ages 2-14), the monthly series offers family-friendly matinees including concerts, screenings, and more. Find a full list of dates and ticket prices below.

The first Logan Center Family Saturday of the fall season–October 5, 2-4:30 pm–includes an hour-long family oriented matinee concert by Jupiter String Quartet, "Musical Conversations." The Jupiter String Quartet will offer a behind-the-scenes look at how they interact, communicate, and express a range of emotions when playing together. Performing music by Beethoven, Haydn and other composers, the four musicians will demonstrate different types of musical conversations, from “passing” the melody from instrument to instrument to performing a fugue “like a game of musical hot potato.”

The day also features arts workshops for the family in capoeira, storytelling, and visual arts presented in partnership with local artists, arts organizations, and student organizations.

This year, families can save up to 50% on Family Saturdays Matinee Series single ticket prices with the  Logan Family Performance Series Pass. With the Performance Series Pass any combination of four children and adults can attend five of the seven 2013-14 Family Matinee Performances for a discounted rate of $75. Passes are valid Oct 2013 through Jul 2014.
