Local Metrics: Majeed, Mooses, Myrie, on view June 26 - August 5, 2012, at the Logan Center Gallery, features new works by Chicago artists Faheem Majeed, Cathy Alva Mooses, and Eliza Myria -- all three 2011 Artists-in-Residence of the University of Chicago's Arts & Public Life and the Center for the Study of Race, Politics & Culture.

The exhibition is the culmination of Majeed, Mooses, and Myrie -- residents of South Shore, Pilsen, and Rogers Park respectively -- having developed their disctinct arts practices and perspectives over the last year as artists-in-residents, working with faculty, staff, and students at the University of Chicago.

Exhibition programs include an opening reception and concert, individual artist spotlights in conversation with CSRPC's Tracye Mattnews and guests, a gallery talk with the artists in conversation with Arts & Public Life director Theaster Gates and The Renaissance Society's Hamza Walker. The June 29 opening reception includes a special concert by Chicago jazz greats Douglas R. Ewart and Quasar with special guests Ann Ward, Jeff Parker, Lester "Helmar" Lashley, and Harrison Bankhead.
