Known for its outstanding adult education programs, the Graham School of Continuing Liberal and Professional Studies offers a wide range of professional development opportunities. In 2013, The Visual Arts Certificate Program joined an already exemplary catalogue of courses and certificates.
This unique Certificate Program blends classroom-based courses with a special studio component at the Hyde Park Art Center, enabling artists to make their studio practice more fulfilling as well as financially successful.
Teaching, curating exhibitions, negotiating contracts, conducting studio visits and writing press releases are just some of the professional practices that career artists can master, yet instruction in these skills is largely absent from BFA and MFA curricula. The four Graham School courses (Writing as Part of your Practice, Business for Artists, Curatorial Practices, and Teaching Art), when combined with The Center Program at the Hyde Park Art Center, fill a void in the current arts instruction landscape.
