UChicago Arts grants foster the creation and presentation of arts across the University in an effort to make the arts part of the life of every member of the campus community.
Under the leadership of the Arts Council from 2001-2015, UChicago Arts has provided more than half a million dollars in support for campus arts activities through six grant programs. Funded projects have ranged from hip-hop performances to literary journals, film festivals to puppetry workshops, summer fellowships to support for integrating the arts into University courses. The UChicago Arts Grants Program, established in Fall 2015, will continue to build on the Arts Council's strong legacy with a new set of programs that aim to offer more levels of funding to more projects.
UChicago Arts offers a robust set of resources designed to support arts practice and research, exhibition and performance, and professional development across the campus. A variety of grants, fellowships, funds, and prizes are available:
- For individual students or Recognized Student Organizations (RSOs)
- For faculty and University-supported organizations
- For faculty, full-time lecturers, or instructors seeking course-specific support
- For alumni
