- $5,000 for the Smart Museum of Art to support the creation of a new work of art in collaboration with students.
- Hunchback
- $7,000 for Rockefeller Chapel in support of Redmoon Theater’s Hunchback production performed in conjunction with the 31st Annual Humanities Day.
- Youth Talk Life
- $6,400 for University Theater to develop a replicable model for arts outreach at the university.
Winter 2009
- Creative Writing Website
- $1,425 for Creative Writing in support of a website renovation and the creation of a centralized information hub for the University’s many writing events and organizations.
- Edgar Meyer
- $3,000 for the University Symphony Orchestra to support a residency and performance by Edgar Meyer.
- Hands on Art
- $3,500 for the Festival of the Arts for a daylong, interactive arts celebration composed of workshops, art-making and performances.
- Havana Biennial
- $3,300 for the Department of Visual Art to create a documentary feature film about the 10th Annual Havana Biennial.
- Poesia Ultima
- $3,000 to support a mini-conference and bilingual reading on contemporary Italian poetry.
- Sanjoy Bandopadhyay
- $1,600 for the Department of Music and the Committee on Southern Asian Studies to support a residency by the distinguished Indian classical sitarist Sanjoy Bandopadhyay.
- Soundscapes/Devon
- $7,500 for the South Asian Language and Area Center for the creation of a bank of audio recordings documenting and interpreting Chicago’s Devon Avenue.
- Web Awards
- $2,000 for the Office of Student Life for the promotion of student contributions to the arts.uchicago.edu website.

- $4,305 for the Cinema and Media Studies department in support of a series of film screenings.
- Chinese Opera Films After 1949
- $3,150 for the Center for East Asian Studies for the screening of two Chinese opera films.

- $3,390 for the Center for Race, Politics and Culture in support of a performance and question and answer by Michael Fosberg.

- $10,000 for the Art History Department in support of an art and art history conference-event-exhibition.

- $4,150 for the Experimental Film Club to support the screenings of Gary Hill videos featuring an introduction by the artist.
