Family and Community Programs
The Logan Center is committed to working with the Arts + Public Life initiative and many other partners to provide programming that is open to the community and events that are family-friendly. Everyone is welcome to attend public events, many of which are free, at the Logan Center.
This fall the Logan Center will be a site for the Hyde Park Jazz Festival, World Music Day, Chicago Architecture Foundation’s Open House Chicago, Chicago Ideas Week, and Facets Multimedia’s Chicago International Children’s Film Festival. These events will all provide a chance to see what the Logan Center has to offer – and what it has in store. Bring the whole family, or come explore on your own.
Logan Center Family Saturdays offer monthly family programs that included a series of matinee concerts, produced by University of Chicago Presents, and interactive workshops presented in partnership with local artists, arts organizations, and student organizations.
The Logan Center provides performance and exhibition spaces for groups on campus and programs geared toward highlighting student artists. These programs aim to expand arts opportunities for students, both as audience members and as presenters.
The Cabaret is a unique performance series that welcomes any and every artist to take the stage. Cabaret nights are hosted by student MCs and feature student artists, with staff and faculty guest appearances.
