Play with us and explore the potentials of transformation, realizing imaginations while expending energies! This class designed is for pre-kindergarten and kindergarten-age students.

Learn basic tumbling skills starting with stretching, going across the mat, games, routines, and core strengthening. Basic skills will include forward rolls, backwards rolls, kart wheels, walk overs, leaps, and jumps working towards presence and confidence in performance. The final class will be an open class in which parents are encouraged to attend. This class is designed for 1^st and 2^nd grade-age students.

Led by University of Chicago graduate and professional teaching artist Lucy Little, students will learn how to work with others, become more aware of their bodies, and gain self-esteem! Skills we will tackle include: clowning, juggling, spinning plates, simple object-balancing (like feathers), simple tumbling, partner and group acrobatics, basic act creation. This class is designed exclusively for 1st and 2nd grade-age students.

Kids Write It. We Do It. World Saved. Chicago's renown arts education theater ensemble comes to Hyde Park for the very first time! Classes are led by two Barrel of Monkeys actor-educators and include games, group story writing, student performances and creative writing time. Students will engage with many different writing forms including radio plays, acrostic poems, haikus, creative nonfiction, commercial jingles, monologues, science fiction and newspaper reporting. Participants in the program also explore many acting and performance techniques and learn the value of working as a supportive ensemble. This class is designed exclusively for 3^rd-5^th grade-age students.
