Pianist Alice Sheu is an active piano teacher, performer, and accompanist. She maintains studios in Hyde Park at the Church of St. Paul and Redeemer's, and downtown Chicago at the Fine Arts Building. She performed in various venues including Schubertiade Chicago, Hyde Park Salon, Noontime Concert Series at the University of Chicago, National Recital Hall in Taiwan, MTHP Artist Series, and Lakeview Music Society. She works as an accompanist for the Music of Baroque Outreach Program. Professionally she is a member of Musicians Club of Women, Lakeview Musical Society, Chicago Area Music Teachers Association, and Music Teachers of Hyde Park. She serves as the chairperson of the MTHP Artist Series.
Alice Sheu completed a Ph. D. in Chemistry at the University of Chicago before obtaining a Masters degree in Piano Performance at the Longy School of Music. She is an alumna of Aspen Music Festival and School, International Summer Academy at Mozarteum, International Keyboard Institute and Festival at Mannes College of Music, and is a prize winner at the Duxbury Music Festival. She studied harpsichord with Frances Conover Fitch and attended Harpsichord workshop with Edward Parmentier at University of Michigan. She continues to work with pianist Jean-David Coen, her longtime mentor.
