Bird Walk in Jackson Park's Wooded Island
In late October, large numbers of birds fly through Chicago during their migration to warmer climates. Come join us in Jackson Park to witness this spectacular phenomenon. Visit the Wooded Island and Bobolink Meadow at 8am on Sunday, October 21st with birding experts Rozenn Bailleul-LeSeur and Randy Shonkwiler. We hope to see 30-40 species, including colorful wood ducks, belted kingfishers searching for food, and several species of warblers and kinglets fluttering in the trees. The walk begins at 8 am and continues until 10:30am -- or later for those who are interested in staying! Please dress for the weather and bring a bird guide if you have one and also your own binoculars. All levels of birders—whether new or experienced—are welcome!
Fee to park in the Hayes Drive metered lot is $2.25, cash or credit card, for three hours.
